We used a type 2 (fixed lift) LLT Wing analysis with a water density of 1023.0 kg/m3.
Stall Speed: Required speed to lift the needed weight, Angle is set at 5 degrees up at stall.
Average Speed: Required speed to lift the needed weight when cruising, Angle is set at 1 degrees up at mean.
Max Speed: Required speed to lift the needed weight when getting through max speed, Angle is set at -3 degrees up at highest.

2x Unidirectional 300g
1x Biaxial 300g

Pine wood core. Same amount of carbon on each side.

total weight, 750g.

Lift to drag ratio / Angle of attack. In blue the profile used on the new Osprey 1850, in red the profile used on the other ONIX models.

Here you can see the 2D results. In blue is the new foil profile, and in red is the profile I use on the ONIX foils until now. So you can see that the lift to drag coefficient in function of the angle of attack is nearly double. It’s about 40 % higher. So in theory, it means that it should be really efficient.
